For thirty years, the Print Regional Design Annual has been a comprehensive survey of graphic design in the United States. The winning entries are organized geographically, with 6 regions (Far West, Southwest, Midwest, South, East, and New York City) judged by guest judges. For the 2010 issue, I created illustrations that incorporate Google satellite imagery of each region into triangular patterns. On the cover the six regions converge, while individual regions feature color-specific patterns. In places the patterns feature recognizable landmarks, while elsewhere the images of the land are abstract.
